When we saw this site we just knew we had found the next perfect Wild Luxury camp. On a calm night you can hear the waves along the shoreline. Thornham Bay site is located within Drove Orchards a 40 acre site which is home of over 150 varieties of English Apple trees. Little wonder that they produce some of the best apple juice in England as well as growing a whole host of vegetables, fruit and farm produce. Drove Orchards is also home to the local farm shop, the very popular Yurt restaurant (open breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as a host of local craft studios.
T
he Wild Luxury camp is a 20 minute walk through the salt marshes to a very special secluded beach adjacent to the Norfolk Wild Life Trust at Holme Dunes. Home at one time or another up to 320 different bird species at this remarkable nature reserve.
The camp itself is in a beautiful peaceful setting nested in amongst the orchards making it particularly sheltered and whilst this is a quiet off-grid location it is within a short walk of a really beautiful Norfolk coast village with two of the best pubs in Norfolk that attract people from far and wide.
The site is adjacent to where the ancient Peddars Way trail and the Norfolk coastal path join so there is miles of trails to walk or cycle.
The award winning Coast Hopper bus service can take you anywhere along this beautiful coastline and back home again every half an hour. There are also lovely beaches and pretty villages and towns at Brancaster, Holkham and Wells-next-Sea.
They are two sets of four lodges which is ideal if you want to take several lodges and bring along friends and family.
Thornham Bay has 8 Serengeti Two Safari Lodges. Lodges can sleep up to five adults or six adults and children. Lodges can accommodate an infant in a cot in addition to these numbers. The Lodges are arranged in two clusters of four which means that if travelling with other families you can book half or all of the siite.
