Finalist for "Best Norfolk Coastal Attraction 2015" in the Regional Tourism Awards.
Thornham Bay is a very peaceful camp nestled in pretty orchards within walking distance of one of Norfolk's quietest sandy beaches at Holme Dunes adjacent to a wildlife centre and a short stroll from Drove Orchards farm. Here you will find the farm shop, craft and clothes shops, Eric's amazing fish and chip restaurant, Shucks restaurant in the yurt, Gurneys seafood and on sunny days a home-made ice cream stall!. You can also walk into the village of Thornham which has a very popular deli with a bistro cafe, The Lifeboat - an old smugglers inn, Norfolk's "Dining Pub of the Year" - The Orange Tree and finally the stylish Chequers pub. Holme Dunes beach is a pretty 30 minute stroll through the salt marshes and is a wide sandy beach which is usually very quiet.
The award winning Coast hopper bus service can take you anywhere along this beautiful coastline and back home again every half an hour. There are also lovely beaches and pretty villages and towns at Brancaster, Holkham and Wells-next-Sea.
There are two sets of four lodges within 'Home' camp and one set of three lodges at 'Top' camp a short walk away. Each Serengeti lodge sleeps 6 and the site layout is very good if you are coming with other families.
Top Camp lodges are slightly more spacious on platform decks and have some additional enhancements including electric hurricane lamps, larger kitchens and ranges, fridges, electric hurricane lamps, phone charge points and hair-dryers. These can only be requested at the time of booking for periods during the school holidays and if available a £15 per night supplement will be charged.
Thornham Bay is not suitable for pets. Pets are welcome at The Hideaway.
